God is our Refuge

promises of God: preservation

Posted by

Throughout the Scriptures we are reminded that God preserves His people spiritually and physically. God is faithful in His promises that when it comes to the protection of His people, God’s character of preserving His people bleeds through the pages of Scriptures. The psalmist, a godly man exposed to sorrow and peril; pain and troubles that penetrates the lives of those who walk on the face of this earth. Whether, it is sickness, adversity, loss of the love ones and even the death. The weather of psalmist’s soul is painted in the psalms and the declaration of God’s protection of his life and the lives of those who rely on God.

The Lord Jesus Christ, while praying to the Father, declares His concerns for the believers, and pleads to the Father for their protections. We can be certain that we are never alone, no matter what valley we are going through or facing a hostile enemy. God is in control and He will preserve our lives.

I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.

John 17:11 – NIV

Putting it into practice

The knowledge and the character of God enables us understand that we are in God’s protection and He is our refuge. He is in control of our lives and we must rely on Him and make Him known in the midst of our affliction. Let us praise His name and call on the name of the Lord in the time of need. To God be the glory.
