We must minister to people effectively
It is extremely important for us to develop a heart which is longing to minister to God’s people even when things do not seems to be progressing. This type of heart and care must continue after one has come to know Jesus Christ as their personal savior–we must have a genuine compassion for people. The question is, how do we develop such compassion and heart for the people.
We develop the sense of urgency to love and show compassion to people when we ourselves come to know who God is and who we are. God is holy and we are sinners like everyone else, if it was not for God, we ourselves would be without God. We also develop the heart for the lost souls and their eternal destination.
The apostle Paul, in the book of Galatians is expressing to the believers that the purpose of his labor is to see Christ being formed into the lives of the believers. Where we no longer live but Christ lives in us.
“My Children, I am again suffering labor pains for you until Christ is formed in you.” Galatians 4:19
Putting it into practice
Regardless of our circumstances (I know, there are times when our circumstances get the best of us and we forget our calling and the purpose God has called us for), we must continue to come to Christ and seek His guidance when answering our call. Take some time and speak with the Lord, ask Him to lead you into the path which is not only helping you grow in Him but is developing within you the heart that cares for God’s people as God does.
