I thank God everyday for blessing us with a wonderful country, where, we have the freedom of religion. There are not many countries that allow the residing Christians to, not only practice their faith freely but to have the ability to share their faith with others. There are countries, where, the believers–those who have place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ–are praying to have such freedom as we do so they can practice and share their faith freely.
What they do not know, is that, even though we have the freedom to practice and share our faith in our country, we are not sharing our faith with others. We are shutting ourselves spiritually and are watching those around us to head toward destruction, when we should be proclaiming the Good News which gives everlasting life. Perhaps, we like the fact that we have the freedom but are not reaping the benefits of it?
In the first century, Caesar declared himself to be god on earth and the whole Roman empire and their captives submitted to Caesar’s kingship and authority. However, in the midst of it, there were believers in the household of Caesar and they were confident in their faith and were sharing the truth with others. It is time for us to pray and ask the Lord for boldness, give us the courage to share our faith, give us the burden for the lost and help us to become the mission minded body of Christ.
Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that i am in chains for Christ. And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.
Philippians 1:12-14
Let us take advantage of the freedom we have in our country, not only to practice our faith freely but to share it boldly as well. He has given us a new song, regardless of the weather our soul is going through we must sing the song of His mercies and love and let others know what He has done for us.
